Snow Day Bodyweight Workouts

Today I was snowed in and prevented from driving to Michigan to film my workout videos.

That gave me a free day, so in addition to a couple of long dog walks, I also hit these bodyweight mini-workouts.

1) 4 minutes of The Punisher (Narrow-Stance Bodyweight Squats x 20 seconds then Hold the bottom Squat position x 10 seconds and repeat 8 times)

2) Pushups (2 minutes using the 20 on, 10 seconds rest system)

3) Lunges - 100 reps

4) Bodysaw supersetted with side planks

5) 100 jumping jacks

And then another dog walk in the knee deep snow.

Here's another 4-Minute Miracle workout to try:

1A) Narrow-Stance Bodyweight Squats x 20 seconds
1B) Hold the bottom Squat position x 10 seconds
Repeat two more times, then without resting, go to:
2A) Spiderman Pushups (alternating) x 20 seconds
2B) Mountain Climbers x 10 seconds
Repeat one more time, then without resting, repeat 1A & 1B three more times until 4 minutes is up.

Today's Kickbutt Mindset Tips:
Be proud of yourself for taking action, getting out of your comfort zones, and getting closer to life of your dreams. It’s your life and doing the right thing is more important than what other people think or say about you. Stay strong. Get stronger.

“We gain strength, and courage, and confidence by each experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face… we must do that which we think we cannot.” – Eleanor Roosevelt

By the way, over at Early To Rise, Matt Smith and I have mapped out our own “hierarchy of needs.” It goes like this. Money is less important than time, and time less important than your reputation. More important than your rep, however, is family, and of ultimate importance is love. It’s hard to explain exactly what we mean by love. But like Robert Ringer explains today about joy, we agree it isn’t something you can chase. You must move towards love and joy in a different manner. I really enjoyed Robert’s essay today, and I know you will too. Read it here:

Today's "Business" Lesson:
Everyone, like it or not, is "in sales." No matter what your career, no matter what your industry, your entire day is based around persuading other people to help you or do things for you.

When you are persuading people to help you make the right food choices to lose fat, you're selling.

When you are persuading your banker to help you out with a loan, you are selling.

When you are persuading your children to behave, you are selling.

Just another reason why everyone should become better at selling and persuading, and stop thinking of sales as a bad thing.
