Workout on the Road

Okay, so what workout do you do when you are on the road?

Well, my advice is pretty simple. Use the hotel gym, or suck it up and go to a local gym and pay the outrageous "cover charge" to do your workout. Hey, put it on your expense account if you can.

Last week in LA, I paid 20 bucks to train at Gold's Gym. It was worth it. Plain and simple.

Luckily, this week, I'm staying at a hotel in Nashville that has a better than average hotel gym. (It's the Opryland hotel, and its more of a city of its own than an actual hotel.)

So today's workout in the hotel gym was different than my normally scheduled workout due to lack of certain pieces of equipment, but here's what I did...

1A) Split Squats
1B) Cable Crunches

2A) Cable Chops
2B) Cable PNF (stole this from a Bill Hartman article in Mens' Health, May 2008 issue)

3A) DB Triceps Extensions
3B) DB Shrugs

It was pretty good. I'm going to be might sore tomorrow from the split squats.

Okay, so what if you can't get to a gym? Well, there are dozens of bodyweight exercises you can do in your hotel room. Here's a bodyweight circuit training video for you.
